Finally having a bit of fun

Listening to: More Green Day
Feeling: Pretty good

Shhhhh.... I don't want to jinx it......

But I am almost having a nice time. Nicer than I would've thought, bein all alone.

Jobs goin all right. Ragging has not yet lost its novelty. And I'm getting faster. :D

And I got my first pay check!

I made it blurry and stuff, but I really wanted to put a pic in here somewhere! :D Also, here are the CDs I bought....

:D And to make things even better, I got my keys to my apartment today!! Damn, I should've taken a picture of them. Oh well. I am SO bad at opening all the locks on my door. It's going to take a lot of practice. My bathroom had been painted a grass green, and I decided to let them keep it that way, and when I got there to the whole empty place today, I was really glad I did. It adds some personality.

The kitchen is so bad, although the refrigerators nice. It's gonna take some work. :) I picked out a headboard I would like to get at Crate and Barrel. This might be it. We'll see if that worked. Anyway. I also need a kitchen table, and drawers, and probably some other stuff. But I'm feelin good about it for now.

I also had a great Italian dinner tonight with a latte at the end. Delicious, and I sat outside on Wacker Dr amongst the skyscrapers by the river while the sun set and the wind blew through my hair. No seriously, the wind was ridiculous. The guy was trying to do the whole thing grating pepper and more than half of it totally missed the plate, and I could hardly get any pink stuff in my ice tea. But I love the wind. :D A lot.

AND IT'S ALMOST FALL! The joy that fall brings me is almost ridiculous. At the very thought of a little plastic pumpkin, or leaves, or turtlenecks, or a pumpkin cappucino, I get all excited that summer is almost finally over!! I know I am a freak, but at least I am a passionate one. hehehe! Almost time for fall!! I can't wait. As you can see.

And oh my GOD the stories from Louisiana are... I don't know what they are. Horrible? Crazy? Awe-inspiring, in a not good way? It's fascinating, and horrible, to hear the stories of people in truly trying times. God, we are so lucky for the things we have. I look around on the streets since I've come here, and I just keep realizing how many luxuries we have that are so common place. It's wonderful and we are so lucky, and we work hard for the things we have. Or we should. We've just got to not take it for granted.

If you haven't seen any pictures of the aftermath of the hurricane, try MSNBC. They have the best designed, clearest presentation of pictures that I saw. There is a whole series of people saving their pets. One of them shows 2 dolphins that got transferred into a hotel swimming pool from their zoo! Another one shows a guy with his dog Cuddles. lol. And another guy is riding his horse through the water.

I don't want to end on a low note, but I've run out of things to say.... Oh, Tim has finally conscented to visit me! So he will be coming the weekend of the 16th. So that's a good thing right? I hope so! Well, I think I am going to watch more disaster footage on TV. It may be sick, but I'm intrigued.
