randomness

And now for a procession of random thoughts:

*

This is the Coca Cafe where I eat a lot at lunch during work. Doesn't it look nice? :)

*

Morgan Freeman is so smart. Besides the fact that he seems to be quite good at selecting roles in movies (generally you know its pretty good, at least by my standards), he totally put into words my feelings on racism....
Freeman believes the labels “black” and “white” are an obstacle to beating racism. “I am going to stop calling you a white man and I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man,” he says. “I know you as Mike Wallace. You know me as Morgan Freeman. You wouldn’t say, ‘Well, I know this white guy named Mike Wallace.’ You know what I’m saying?”

I really want to make Christmas cookies to take in to work, and I am too lazy to really make them, from scratch, and I think it may be a total copout to just buy instant cookies and bake them and bring them in. And I might do it anyway. I am shameless.

*

I only like Christmas carols in minor keys. The ones that aren't so damn happy and bubbly. I have been going through my Ultimate Christmas Cheat Book and brushing up on sight reading chords so I can play carols for the holidays, but I'm so picky. Sing We Now of Christmas and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and We Three Kings are favorites. Too bad they all have... well lets just say they are not easy to sit down and play as Silent Night and Jingle Bells.

*

I have yet to freak out about not having enough Christmas stuff done yet, but I can feel it coming. It's like... PMS or something....

*

The snow had everyone working from home today, and yet somehow my redneck country ass made it the 45 min - 1 hr PLUS snow traffic all the way to work. Fortunately I succeeded in unalarming the place, for the first time. Around 10, one other person came. The two of us worked on a diagram for the information architecture of a very unwieldy website and watched the rain turn to snow. And then we left early at 3. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.... :D All in all, it was a pretty nice day. In spite, or because of, the weather.

*

Someone at work gave me Fallout 2 - for the Mac. So now I have to figure out how to fit my huge ass monitor on my desk so I can set up my G4 I bought from school. I'm glad I've actually got something to do with it now. Ironic that it's a game.

*

I feel like I have no time. I work all day and then I come home and eat dinner and somehow it's 7:30 and I'm exhausted. ...so I stay up until midnight doing random shit like post to my blog....

*

and now for a picture.... this picture, were it in focus, might show you how BRIGHT the moonlight has been the past couple of days (before the ice set in). It weirds me out. It's like dawn.... But no, no, it's all night. It's easy to see out side... and so beautiful.... Well, that's all for now. Nite nite.

I always assumed that nights are brighter during snow falls because the light reflects off of all the whiteness. White nights. it makes you feel so cosy.

I think you should make your own cookies. doooo iiiiit :). heheh no jk. i actually have been drooling over the commercials for sugar cookies that you can decorate yerself. I would never do it, but it looks yummy and fun.
